A Day At The The Pirate Port

from Aneira_Greene on 06/02/2020 04:32 PM

Aneira sat at the edge of the jetty, playing with an empty rum bottle. It was definately not her drink of choice, but it had been offered free to her, and it was always going to be a better drink than the vile water that sat in the well. The wind was cold, but there was a shining sun that offered no warmth, almost seeming to make the sea look ever more inviting, dangerous and exciting. She had decided to take a bit of time away from the crew of the ship, preferring to maybe wander alone through the Pirate Port, pick up some stories to add to her memorised collection.
The sky was a stormy grey, but as she stood and walked back down the jetty, shades of blue began to snake through, splitting the clouds. There was music, very loud music, playing from one of the bars, and as always, fights were breaking out left, right and centre. She shot some glares at a few drunken men, vaulting on of the collapsed stone walls and finding herself back in the main square, bottle still swinging in hand. Aneira was taking this oppurtunity to wear one of her dresses, a dark navy blue material with a low cut front and fashionable figure, hanging just above the ankles and her boots to allow ease of movement. Overall, wearing dresses was something that made her feel good about herself, and it would always stay that way, she did belive.

A redhead walked along the jetty, looking around herself. It was a dreary day (go figure) and she was in a decent mood. It was quite a sight to see her walking around without a care, humming along with the music to herself as she watched fights break out left and right. Just a normal day in Tortuga, if you asked her. Nothing to worry about yet. Unlike a lot of the women around Clara, she wasn't dolled up. She didn't believe in dolling up. She was a pirate, not a lady. She hadn't really gotten "dolled up" since she left her family a couple years back to be a pirate. The horror her family had faced when they realized this was only up to Clara's imagination. She hadn't really talked to them since that day, and to her knowledge, they never attempted to find her. That was fine with her.
Clara's hair hung in loose curls around her face as she walked. A man wolf whistled and she just rolled her eyes, continuing on. Go figure. She wasn't going to take that. She eventually saw another woman walking around, realizing it was another pirate like herself. She recognized her as Aneira Greene. She walked up to the woman and nodded at her. "Morning."

Aneira whipped her head around, before realising that it was one of her few good friends, Clara. They had met a few years back, on Tortuga infact, and there was something about her Anthea liked. She pushed a stray bit of hair behind her ear, finally setting down the empty glass bottle on a nearby wall, resisting the urge to just.....push it off the edge. It was nice to see a friendly face, to say the very least.

She sat next to the bottle, and tapped the space next to her. "It's been ages since I've seen you! How are things?" She inqured with a slight smile, sitting in a relaxed position. "And as for morning, it's definately not a good one." She gestured at the stormy sky, despite the blue tendrils inching across the sky, you still wouldn't want to sail in such weather. And the rather ominous tune from a string instrument, a fiddle prehaps, somewhere did nothing to lighten the mood.
