Re: Demolished Dates And Amorous Altercations
from Yrsa_Mareritt on 06/07/2020 12:22 PM"Well, you are most certainly right about that. The poor lad was an absolute wimp to begin with! He turned pale when I told him about one of my many battles at The Flying Dutchman." Cassian almost spit his drink back out after he heard her say that. "And that calls himself a captain?" Cassian was still laughing when he shook his head. "Such a disgrace to the title," he sighed drmatically and winked at Yrsa. "You are more a man of substance for sure, as you experienced battles and enjoyed them even." Cassian nodded. "Oh, I sure enjoy a good battle every now and then," he said with a raised brow. "Not too long ago, we had this massive battle with a group of three smaller ships in the open sea. They each were about half the size of my ship, however, they were way faster. They gave us a good fight, for sure." Cassian smiled at the memory of it. "Obviously we blew them to bits after a little while. The game was starting to get boring." He grinned. "One man survived and had the nerve to try and kill me in my sleep. He climbed on board at night, sneaked into my chambers and put a knife to my throat." Cassian let his hand glide over the big scar that ran around his neck. "I captured him, though. I tied him on top of the highest pole, gagged him and let one of my men shred him to bloody ribbons after we starved him for days. He likes to do the killing, that one. Was a convicted murderer before he joined my crew." Cassian took another sip of his drink, this time keeping all the content inside. Yrsa had been listening to Cassians story with great interest. This was exactly how she liked her life to be, full of horrific events. The functioned best on conditions like that. "What a marvelous story you have there! Awesome!" she said and took another sip of her drink.
"You still like to meet my crew after hearing that story?" he joked. Yrsa laughed. "Are you kidding me? Of course, I would love to. I would love to meet this man as well, I think he is full of wild stories," She was a bit shocked to hear herself talk like that, maybe he would think she was actually crazy or even a psychopath. However, Yrsa knew that Cassian probably would not be shocked about anything anymore.
Re: Demolished Dates And Amorous Altercations
from Yrsa_Mareritt on 06/03/2020 11:24 AMYrsa told Cassian about her past, not in detail, but the outlines. The details were to gruesome, even for her, to tell. She saw Cassian struggle with how to react to a story like hers. "Damn," he said with raied brows. "For fucks sake, when you said horrors, I did not expect somthing like that," he murmured. He took her hand in his and squeezed it shortly, as a way of encourangement and let go again. "Oh well, most damaged souls are at sea, I am right? You must have a story to, captain." Yrsa said. He laughed a joyless laugh. "I'll drink to that, darling," he said sighing, after which he raised his glass and poured the content straight into his mouth. He took the bottle of scotch and filled up his glass. He grabbed another one from the corner of the table, filled one up for Yrsa too and handed it to her while he continued to talk. "Oh well, I do not mean to bore you with stories of my past," he grinned. Yrsa smiled at him, shortly. She did not really know why, maybe to let him know it was okay to tell if he wanted to. After that she drank her scotch. She liked the taste of it, unlike most women. However, she was not like most women. "Let's move on to a subject of a lighter matter, shall we?" He smiled. "For example the subject of how much of a better date I am than your previous conquest." He raied a brow in amusement. Yrsa laughed at him. "Well, you are most certainly right about that. The poor lad was an absolute wimp to begin with! He turned pale when I told him about one of my many battles at The Flying Dutchman. You are more a man of substance for sure, as you experienced battles and enjoyed them even." Yrsa raised her glass at Cassian as a gesture of appreciation.
"In that case, it's a deal. I can take you with me to give you a tour of the ship and introduce you to my crew tomorrow, if you're free. It might be nice to know who you will sleep in one cabin with, if that's what you're aiming for." He chuckled. "I must warn you though.. My men and women have been at sea for quite some time, so you might get overwhelmed by their attention when you come aborad. They haven't seen a beauty like yours in some time." Yrsa smiled. "Well, do not flather me, captain. I would love to meet your crew. I do have some time tomorrow. Or infact, I have all the time in the world," she said and leaned back. She studied Cassians looks. A Spanish captain, a strong captain and maybe, in the deepest parts of his soul, he is even a kind-hearted captain. Yrsa was always astonished about what you could read in someones eyes, which made her wonder what he could see in hers.
Re: Demolished Dates And Amorous Altercations
from Yrsa_Mareritt on 06/02/2020 07:33 PMCassian nodded thanks to the barman as he came to bring him a glass of scotch. He immediately took a big sip of it. He sighed and took another sip. "Ah, captain, you must know that I am just testing you, as you are obviously testing me," Yrsa said, which made Cassian laugh. "Oh, of course you are." He raised his glass at her, in a way of letting her know he respected her for saying that. "However, you must know, that I do not fear for much, after all the horrors I have experienced, so, I tend to cross boundries every once in a while. My apology in advance," she said with a wink at Cassian. "Apology accepted, milady," he crooned. "Would you mind terribly telling me about those horrors... as you call them? You intrigued me." He folded his arms and leaned back a little in his seat. He looked at Yrsa. Yrsa took a few calm breaths and a few sips from her drink before anwsering his request. "Well, the usual. My youth was horrific, than my life got better and once again my whole life went to shit. I mean, my father was an absolute ass, but luckily for me, he sold me to the kindest merchant in the world. He took great care of me, but he got killed. When I got back to our ship, the pirates who took over the ship just threw his body over board. I mean, do not pitty me, I am fine, but I am also just not scared anymore. I mean, what else do I have to lose, right?" she looked away from Cassian. She could put on the tough act, but telling always breaks her heart. However, captain Cassian was not going to see her suffer. "Oh well, most damaged souls are at sea, I am right? You must have a story to, captain." she said, still not looking at him. Instead, she looked at the crowd hanging out in The Tipsy Sailor.
"That sounds like a great idea, me travelling with you, captain. However, for me to sleep in you chambers... I will make you work for that a bit more. I do not wish to look anything like the hooker you just scared away before disturbing my date." Cassian laghed out loud at this comment. "Ah, a challenge," he crooned. "How did you know I love those?" He winked at her and sat up a little straighter. "But all right. Let's then say you come to my ship. I'll sail you around the open sea again, let you fight off scum we find there. And of course," he added. "I'll give you your own chamber. Just know that, if you make up your mind, my door is open to you." He took another big sip of his scotch and smiled contently at Yrsa. Yrsa laughed. "Well, if I get my own chambers, than of course! I would love to sail with you for a while, indulge the fighting and the adventures ahead. I would not mind sleeping in a mammock among the other crew either. I mean, you are captain, I would be just another member of your crew. You should treat me like that as well." she said determined. She did not like getting priviliges of any sort. She may be a woman, but being part of the crew means sleeping in a hammock or even on the floor. She would not mind, she liked being part of the crew. She did not want to be seen as weak, most of the men only make that mistake once.

from Yrsa_Mareritt on 06/01/2020 11:51 PM"Oh, I know all about the trouble, captain. Yet, I do not think you really intend to hurt me. I mean, first of all, you would not win even if you tried for a thousand years, but aside from that you enjoy my presence way to much." Cassian folded his arms and looked at her through squinted eyes. "Cocky too, I see." He sniffed. "Altough I wouldn't be too sure of that, if I were you. What if I could eaily beat you? You know what they say about being cocky, don't you?" He raised a brow and smiled a slight smile. "Dine with arrogance, sleep with shame." He winked at her and took another sip of his beer. Yrsa laughed and took another sip of her drink. "Ah, captain, you must know that I am just testing you, as you are obviously testing me," she said and bit her lip while having an enormous grin on her face. "However, you must know, that I do not fear for much, after all the horrors I have experienced," she felt a shiver run all over her body, but she tried really hard to keep it hidden from Cassian. During their first encounter he could not yet know about her horrific past. It would make her come off weak, which she wanted to prefend at all costs. "So, I tend to cross boundries every once in a while. My apology in advance," she winked at Cassian.
"Well, you might be right... What I miss most of all is that I no longer have an actual home. I am just hopping ships, hoping I come across some useful news." Cassian bit his bottom lip in thought. "Hmm," he murmured. "I get what you're saying, yes. My crew really feels like my family, and my ship is my home. In fact, I actually view my crew as my family. They are everything to me." He, again, downed his drink and waved for the barman to bring him something stronger. "Say, lady Yrsa, why don't you come by my ship once, you can sail with me for a while, fight again, taste the life of piracy once more." He felt the corner of his mouth tug and raised his brow. "I'll even let you sleep in my chambers, if that, too, is something you desire." He grinned playfully at her, as a way of letting her know he was kidding. Yrsa smiled. "That sounds like a great idea, me travelling with you, captain. However, for me to sleep in you chambers... I will make you work for that a bit more. I do not wish to look anything like the hooker you just scared away before disturbing my date." She winked at him and could not resist playing with the fire of the lit candle again.
Re: Demolished Dates And Amorous Altercations
from Yrsa_Mareritt on 06/01/2020 10:15 PMYrsa saw anger grow inside Cassian. He lifted his brows and leaned a little closer over the table. "Careful with your words, little dove," he hissed. "You might be good with them, seeing as you're working for a paper, but say the wrong words, to the wrong people, and you'll get yourself in trouble." He grinned a nasty grin at her before backing away again, slouching in the bench he was sitting on. Yrsa was offended by the fact that he called her little dove. However, she was not going to give him the pleasure of pulling her axe at him. "Oh, I know all about the trouble, captain. Yet, I do not think you really intend to hurt me. I mean, first of all, you would not win even if you tried for a thousand years, but aside from that you enjoy my presence way to much," Yrsa smiled at him and took a sip of her drink. "Did it ever occur to you, that gathering information for the good of all pirates worldwide, may be also with some great risk?" She asked. Cassian rolled his eyes. "Oh, I'm sure that's the case, Yrsa-darling. But I was merely talking about the rogue life at sea. Don't you miss the brutality? The fighting? Judging from the fact you're so quick to pull out those axes of yours only shows me that writing might not be as... suited for you as being a regular pirate." He sighed and flicked a non-existent piece of dust from his white shirt. Yrsa laughed out loud for a sec, but then she realized that what Cassian said was true. She did miss fighting at sea, defending your ship, your home at all costs. "Well, you might be right... What I miss most of all is that I no longer have an actual home. I am just hopping ships, hoping I come across some useful news. " she said leaning forward once again. She felt the hostility drifting away and making place for a more calm mood. However, she new her hostile mood could come back as easily if Cassian kept on trying to draw her anger out.
Re: Demolished Dates And Amorous Altercations
from Yrsa_Mareritt on 06/01/2020 01:48 PMCassian smiled at her when she reminded him that she was automatically his enemy, since she has never been a part of his crew. "Hmm. In some ways, yes. It is just hard to imagine such a beautiful lady like yourself to be anything like an enemy." He sighed dramatically and downed his beer, before pouring himself another one with the carafe that was left on the table by the barman. "I should tell you, Lady Yrsa, I would not at all mind sleeping with the enemy if they all look like you." He smiled lazily and stared straight into her eyes. Yrsa grinned once again at his comment. Cassian knew what he was doing, without a doubt. He knows how to win over a woman for himself. "After two years of hopping ships in every port I entered, the ship I was currently on sunk to the bottem of the sea. I survived, together with two others. That is how I came aboard of The Flying Dutchman, where I happily served for six years. Now, I am just travelling. Ever heard of The British Gazette, captain?" Cassian raised his brows. "The magazine? Of course I have. Why?" His vision focussed on her hand as she let her finger glide through the flame of a candle. "Don't tell me," he started while he looked back at her face again, "that a former pirate, is now writing for a magazine." He grinned. "Isn't that just too dull for you, now that you experienced the life at sea as a pirate?" He asked, actually interested. "If you ever need something... Or someone," he smiled, "to bring you some more excitement, I would be more than willing to help." He made a little curtsey for show and grinned. Suddenly stopped playing with the fire and looked at him angrily. "Well, captain. I doubt you bring me more excitement, if you are really as narrow-minded as you pretend to be," she went to sit up straight, removing herself out of the compelling aura of Cassian. "Did it ever occur to you, that gathering information for the good of all pirates worldwide, may be also with some great risk?" she asked Cassian while looking at him straight in the eyes. She sweared to herself and all the Norse Gods. If this man made one more diminishing comment to her, he would meet her axes as well.

from Yrsa_Mareritt on 06/01/2020 12:51 PM"Oh, I am quite sure you will not like my other tricks so much, captain. Though, I do not intend to hurt you just yet," Yrsa said. Cassian raised his brow in surpise. "Oh," he cooed. "Threatning a captain already, are we now? What an interesting little gem you are." He sat up a little straighter and grinned. Yrsa grinned at his comment. Sure, she was known to suprise men, not always in a good way.
"Well, Captain, my name is Yrsa Mareritt. I forgot to tell you, when we were interrupted by my horrible date," she continued. He chuckled when she referred to Bruce as a 'horrible date'. "I have been a pirate for the past eight years, but I have roamed the seven seas for far longer than that. And, as for my tricks, a woman or any man at sea needs to be able to defend him or herself, am I correct? So that is where I learned to handle my beloved axes so well." Cassian threw his head back and laughed in surpise. "A pirate? You?" He nodded in approval and clapped his hands a few times. "That explains the temperament," he added with a wink. "All right, Lady Yrsa. I must say, you have surprised me in more ways than one tonight." He sat up straight entirley now and leaned over the table a little. "And may I ask on what ships you were active as a pirate? After all, I would like to know if I am sleeping with the enemy." He folded his hands together, his many rings shining in the candle light. "Well, since I have not been on your ship, is it not evident that you are most certainly sleeping with the enemy?" she asked and leaned over the table as well, getting very close to the ever confident Cassian. "After two years of hopping ships in every port I entered, the ship I was currently on sunk to the bottem of the sea. I survived, together with two others. That is how I came aboard of The Flying Dutchman, where I happily served for six years. Now, I am just travelling. Every heard of The British Gazette, captain?" she asked him. After which she started playing with the fire of a candle, which was placed between them, running her fingers through the flame.
Re: Demolished Dates And Amorous Altercations
from Yrsa_Mareritt on 06/01/2020 09:36 AM"Lesson well taken," Cassian said with a grin. Yrsa smiles at him. "Very good, Mister Cassian Vanserra, a captain no less," Yrsa said, while she wipe her hair out of her face and straigtened her corset. "Just as I though you could not be interesting, atop of being as beautiful as you are, you surprise me with this trick of yours." He leans back into the bench and stretches out his legs. "What other tricks do you have in store for me?" He takes another sip of his beer, and waves at the barman to refill his glass. Yrsa grins at Cassian. "Oh, I am quite sure you will not like my other tricks so much, captain. Though, I do not intend to hurt you just yet," Yrsa said. "So tell me, where did you learn that-- thing you just did? You don't strike me as the typical housewive, walking around with axes like that." He raises his brows and waits for her answer while the barman approaches them with a big carafe of beer. "Fill the lady up too," he orders the barman, and looks back at Yrsa.
Yrsa thanks the barman, and subsequently Cassian as well. She takes a deep breathe before answering his question. "Well, Captain, my name is Yrsa Mareritt. I forgot to tell you, when we were interrupted by my horrible date. You see, I am indeed not a housewife. I do not even own a house, because my heart, just as yours, lies at sea," Yrsa took another sip of her drink and looked at Cassian. "I have been a pirate for the past eight years, but I have roamed the seven seas for far longer than that. And, as for my tricks, a woman or any man at sea needs to be able to defend him or herself, am I correct? So that is where I learned to handle my beloved axes so well," Yrsa leans back, waiting for Cassians reply. His next move would be important, as it would prove whether he is up for the task of handling a woman like her. Bruce, for example, was not, not even a slightest bit.
Re: Demolished Dates And Amorous Altercations
from Yrsa_Mareritt on 05/31/2020 10:57 PMYrsa saw that the Spanish guy was held up by another woman, which made Yrsa sight of disappointment. Bruce looked at her strangely, but there was no time to ask her what was wrong, because suddenly the Spanish guy was standing right next to them. "Well, well, well," said the man when he came to a halt beside the table "What do we have here?" He smiled lazily at Yrsa and ignored Bruce, who was now looking at him with frowned eyebrows. "What is a beauty like yourself, doing at a bar like this?" He placed his elbow on the bench beside him. "With scum like that," he added, while gesturing to Bruce. Bruce looked at him angrily. Yrsa smiled at the man, knowing this would anger Bruce even more. Yrsa liked how the man played his games with Bruce, looking so confident. This attracted Yrsa to him as well, that he would try to win her over, in front of another man. Whether the man was to be trusted, she did not know. However, at this point she did not care as well. The man was going to free her from her horrible date. "Who the hell do you think you are, calling me scum?," Bruce snarled. "Surely you don't mean to grace this man with more of your time than you have already done, now do you?" He grinned and took another sip of his beer. Bruce stood up and walked over to him. "What do you think you're doing? Can't you see I'm on a date?" The man didn't move an inch. "Hmhmm.. And it is going incredibly well, judging by the fact that your 'date', as you call it, keeps galncing my way." The man gave him a sympathetic pat on the shoulder, winked at him and walked around the man, towards the other bench at the table, where he took a seat across from Yrsa.
Yrsa could not wipe the grin of her face as the man sat across her. "So, do tell me, sir, what might be your name?" she asked. She had no longer any interest in Bruce, who looked shocked at Yrsa. "How dare you, woman, to embarrass me like this?" Bruce screamed. Yrsa stood up, angry, and grabbed her axe. She jammed the axe into the table, right next to Bruce his hand. "Woman?" she said offended. "You dare call me out like that? Like I am some weak creature who is suppose to listen to a worm like you?" Bruce could not speak a word. Yrsa turned her head to the man. "Let this be a lesson for you as well, sir." she said, after which she said down calmy. She pulled her axe out of the table and put it away. Then, she looked at Bruce, who was still speechless. "You can go now, Bruce," she said as she waved her hand.
Re: Demolished Dates And Amorous Altercations
from Yrsa_Mareritt on 05/31/2020 09:51 PMYrsa was in England for almost a week now. She had spend a month at Shipwreck Cove, to work on The British Gazette. Normally, Yrsa would write her articles anywhere in the world or at sea, and send her articles to the headquarters at Shipwreck Cove. However, at lot had happened at the Caribbean in the past months, so her presence was requested. After finishing multiple papers, with a lot of shocking news, Yrsa was finally able to roam the Seven Seas again. England was her first stop, since she left Shipwreck Cove. She traveled on the Ship of at pirate, known as Bruce Fulton. His ship was not big, nor small. However, he had a pleasant crew and her voyage had passed by without any trouble. Bruce seemed very fond of Yrsa, though Yrsa was not really sure what she thought of him.
Yet, Yrsa had agreed to one date with Bruce. Yrsa was familiar with this place in the South of England, so she decided they should meet at 'The Tipsy Sailor'. She wanted to avoid a romantic date at all costs, so this would be a good place to just have fun, as she intended. When she approached The Tipsy Sailor, the one thing she was already afraid of, happened. Bruce was waiting outside for her, with flowers. 'Flowers?! Really, for f**k sake. I am a pirate, not a lady,' was what Yrsa thought. She gave him a weird look when he handed her the flowers, which she received with a fake smile. He pulled all the gentlemen moves on her, like opening a door and ordering for her. However, she promised herself she would give the poor man a chance, since she had been alone for as long she could remember. Once they sat at the table, they started talking about his pirate-business and her work as executive. It was a very formal and distant conversation, precisely as Yrsa it wanted to be. She had not finished her first glass of rum, when a man entered The Tipsy Sailor. He looked like a real pirate, a real man, compared to Bruce. Bruce kept on talking about he plundered a ship of a poor merchant, while Yrsa enjoyed the pleasure of inspecting the man. He had a Spanish look, as well as a very self-confident look on his face. Yrsa smiled, but her dreaming was interupted by Bruce, who once again had asked her a question.
Yrsa told him about one of the bloodiest fights she had experienced at The Flying Dutchman, as she saw how Bruce slowely turned pale, yet, he became more interested in the matter. This more or less saved their conversation, because Yrsa was already making up some excuse to leave early. However, then the most unexpected thing happened. Yrsa could see the good-looking Spanish guy approaching from the corner of her eye.
